The African Civic Leadership Program's flagship fellowship program is designed to build the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Ethiopia through the assignment of fellows who provide professional and technical support to host organizations. We have two broad objectives. The first is to support CSOs that promote the principles of democracy and social justice through devising a model that offers opportunities for young leaders in grassroots civic activism. The second is to promote and support the public interest engagement of young professionals and community activists in the civil society sector. Accordingly, ACLP has developed organizational and public interest fellowship streams within its program, with the objective of identifying and supporting emerging and existing civil society leaders and community activists as well as prospective young professionals in law and other relevant fields, thereby advancing the cause of social justice in Ethiopia.
